NYU Steinhardt’s Office of Research invites applications for Research/Program Affinity Groups in key areas of interest to the Steinhardt community. This funding opportunity is meant to facilitate connections between faculty who might not otherwise have the opportunity to collaborate. Goals may include interdisciplinary research activity; course and program development; or, simply, the sharing of knowledge, approaches, and best practices.
Several groups of faculty will be supported through this new mechanism. Groups should consist of at least 8-10 faculty members, who represent divergent Steinhardt administrative homes (Departments and/or Research Centers).
For each group, we will provide up to $5,000 for use during the academic year that can be used for food at collaborative events, a speaker series, etc. We will also identify space for meetings and events, and provide scheduling support as needed.
To apply, send a one-page document to steinhardt.research@nyu.edu by the first Friday of November containing:
- Thematic area
- Justification and potential contribution to Steinhardt, NYU and/or the field
- Activities and goals
- Potential members
Note, the subject must include the words "Research/Program Affinity Groups" in the request.
