

We offer a limited number of competitive, need-based scholarships ranging from $500-$2,000 for participation in Intersession and Summer study abroad programs. Undergraduate and graduate US citizens, permanent residents, and international students are eligible to apply. Scholarship awards are applied in the form of a discount to the student's Bursar bill for the term in which study abroad takes place.
You should apply concurrent with your study abroad application, so we can review the materials together. Materials will not be reviewed together if your scholarship application is submitted after application round deadline. Include the following documentation in .PDF or .DOC format:

The Astor Study Abroad Award helps teachers in New York City who are also students at NYU finance international academic experiences. Awards ranging from $500 to $2,500 may be used to offset the cost of participation in our short-term study abroad programs. Each year, we award a limited number of full-time teachers employed at a NYC public schools and charter schools this scholarship made possible through the generous gift of Brooke Astor. The awards and limited/competitive and will be granted as a discount on your Bursar bill.
If you wish to be considered for the award, first apply to the NYU Steinhardt study abroad program of your choice, and then complete the Astor Study Abroad application.
