How to Apply for Short-Term Study Abroad

Graduate Study Abroad

The application for January and Spring 2024 programs is now available. The Summer 2024 application will open in December. Contact steinhardt.global@nyu.edu with any questions.

Current NYU Students

  • Go to the Current NYU Students application. Enter your Net ID and password and complete the Duo push process.
  • Once you have logged in, scroll to the bottom of the page and click the "Start New Application" button.
  • Select the Global Affairs application from the dropdown menu. Click Create Application, then click Open Application.

Visiting Students

  • Go to the visiting student application. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the "Create an account" button under the "First-time users" section.
  • Enter your Email, First Name, Last Name, and Date of Birth, then click Continue.
  • You will be asked to enter a pin number, which will be sent to the email address you entered on the previous screen. Enter the pin that you receive by email and re-enter your Date of Birth, then click Login.
  • Create a password and click Set Password.
  • Once your account is created, scroll to the bottom of the page and click the "Start New Application" button.
  • Select the Global Affairs application from the dropdown menu. Click Create Application, then click Open Application.

Be sure to meet with your academic advisor to ensure that the short-term study abroad course(s) you would like to participate in meets your degree requirements.

Scholarships

The Office of Global Affairs offers a limited number of competitive Global Need-Based Scholarships for participation in our short-term graduate study abroad programs. See our Graduate Study Abroad Scholarships page for more information on eligibility and how to apply. Interested students should complete the scholarship application immediately after their study abroad application so that the materials may be reviewed together. Note that these scholarships may only be applied to courses that involve travel; virtual-only courses will not be eligible.
