Assistantships and On-Campus Jobs

On-campus work opportunities may be available to help you cover your living expenses, gain work experience, and help you advance in your career.

Assistantships

Assistantships, which typically provide full tuition and stipend support, do not generally exist within NYU Steinhardt, and are not typically offered to students at the time of admission. Doctoral students may be hired as Research Assistants.

NYU Steinhardt does not maintain a list of these types of positions. Individual faculty or programs may offer hourly work to current students which might involve instructing a class, providing private lessons, working on administrative/research projects, or other hourly work. It is recommended that interested students connect directly with program faculty and advisers to explore what may be available.

On-Campus Jobs

Once enrolled most NYU students will have access to on-campus jobs. Handshake is the Wasserman Center's career development platform for jobs, internships and more. On-campus  jobs are available, but not guaranteed. The current minimum wage for graduate students is $28.25/hour for up to 20 hours per week of work.
