What You’ll Learn
Throughout your time in the certificate program, you will devote time to learning:
- How to create and implement Pre-K–12 sequential dance programs in public and independent schools
- How to plan, implement, and assess dance education in diverse urban settings
- Advanced technique and dance pedagogy

Hands-On Teaching Experiences in New York City Schools
As part of your program of study, you will complete fieldwork observing dance instruction, as well as completing two student teaching placements, in New York City schools. You’ll work with cooperating teachers who are experienced, certified dance educators to learn from their expertise. Learn more about the student teaching experience.
