Curriculum

The 22– to 37-credit Post-Master’s Advanced Certificate in Teaching Dance is designed to take your existing dance education practice to the next level. You’ll gain first-hand experience creating and implementing dance programs and assessments, benefiting from advanced instruction in dance technique and pedagogy. 

Core Course Sequence

You’ll take core courses in human development and arts education, dance for students with special needs, teaching creative movement, methods and techniques of teaching dance, and the history, culture, and pedagogy of dance. Through student teaching placements,  you’ll learn to blend research, pedagogy, and cultural responsiveness to make a difference for Pre-K–12 students in public and independent schools
