NYSED Safety Net Summary
1. edTPA Multiple Measures Review Process
The New York State edTPA Multiple Measures Review Process (MMRP) is for teacher candidates who do not pass the edTPA, but score within two points of the passing score and can demonstrate that they are prepared to become a teacher of record. Please see MMRP details.
The ALST (Academic Literacy Skills Test) has been eliminated. Candidates are NO LONGER REQUIRED to take the ALST for NYS certification.
The NYSED has identified a safety net passing score of 500 that is in effect until the revised EAS is operational.

Science CSTs. Through November 10, 2020, candidates may take either:
- the Safety Net Biology (006),Safety Net Chemistry (007),Safety Net Earth Science (008),or Safety Net Physics (009) CST (predecessor test).
Please note that passing scores on the Safety Net (predecessor) Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science, and Physics tests will continue to be accepted, regardless of the application date.
