Beginning Fall 2026, every newly admitted full-time student in one of our eligible teacher education master’s programs that lead to initial certification will receive a substantial scholarship:
- One-year programs: $20,000 scholarship
- Two-year programs: $15,000 per year (renewable for year two)

All new full-time students enrolling in these eligible initial certification MA and MAT programs for the Fall 2026 semester will receive the scholarship:
- Transformational Teaching (MAT)
- Childhood Education and Childhood Special Education Dual Certification
- Early Childhood Education and Early Childhood Special Education Dual Certification
- Educational Theatre, Grades K-12, Initial Certification
- Educational Theatre, All Grades and English 7-12: Dual Certification
- Educational Theatre, All Grades and Social Studies 7-12: Dual Certification
- Dance Education, All Grades, Initial Certification (MA)
- World Language Education and TESOL, Dual Certification
- TESOL, Initial Certification
- English and Students with Disabilities, Grades 7-12: Dual Initial Certification
- Social Studies and Teaching Students with Disabilities, Grades 7-12: Dual Initial Certification
- Students with Disabilities and Computer Science, Dual Initial Certification
To qualify for this award, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Admitted for Fall 2026
- Enrolled full-time in an eligible initial certification program
- Domestic and international students are welcome
- No FAFSA required
- NYU Teacher Residency applicants are not eligible, since they receive other scholarship consideration
Apply by January 15.
Submit your completed Fall 2026 application by the deadline—there is no separate scholarship application. All admitted students who meet the above criteria will automatically receive the award.
Applicants submitted or completed after the deadline will not be eligible for this award but may be eligible for other scholarship initiatives.
