Teacher Education Scholarship Initiative

If you've ever considered answering the vital call to teach, now is the moment to transform your career and purpose by earning a graduate degree in teacher education at NYU Steinhardt. We are thrilled to announce a major investment designed to make your journey into teaching more accessible than ever before.

Beginning Fall 2026, every newly admitted full-time student in one of our eligible teacher education master’s programs that lead to initial certification will receive a substantial scholarship:

  • One-year programs: $20,000 scholarship
  • Two-year programs$15,000 per year (renewable for year two)

To qualify for this award, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Admitted for Fall 2026
  • Enrolled full-time in an eligible initial certification program
  • Domestic and international students are welcome
  • No FAFSA required
  • NYU Teacher Residency applicants are not eligible, since they receive other scholarship consideration

Apply by January 15.

Submit your completed Fall 2026 application by the deadline—there is no separate scholarship application. All admitted students who meet the above criteria will automatically receive the award.

Applicants submitted or completed after the deadline will not be eligible for this award but may be eligible for other scholarship initiatives.
