As a student, you will study a wide variety of topics such as food science and technology, food and culture, epidemiology, marketing, nutrition, and health policy — combined with a foundational core of liberal arts courses and electives. You will work closely with an adviser to choose electives that complement your individual interests and desired career path.

Undergraduates pursuing this major/co-major also have the opportunity to expand upon class work by completing dynamic internship experiences. Our department has relationships with a range of organizations where you can sharpen your skills while learning from seasoned professionals in the field.

Please note: The Global Public Health co-major is not a standalone major and must be combined with a degree-granting bachelor's program within CAS, GLS, Meyers, Silver, or Steinhardt.

NYU Steinhardt's Global Public Health/Food Studies major/co-major prepares you to enter a variety of careers in advocacy, policy, agriculture, food production, public relations, and development as well as to pursue advanced academic training in public health, food studies, or other related fields.
