The NYU Wind Symphony prides itself in performing both staples of the wind repertoire and exciting new works for wind band. The ensemble is comprised of students ranging from first-year undergraduates to doctoral candidates.
Woodwinds
NYU Orchestra and NYU Wind Symphony Auditions will take place on Tuesday, September 2nd, 2025 from 1:30-6:30pm in Paulson Center 620. Auditions will be blind.
***The Wind Symphony, Orchestra and Contemporary Music Ensemble are primarily open to music majors. However, non-music major students who play oboe, bassoon, clarinet and saxophone are invited to audition. To register for a large ensemble audition, please complete the Non-Major Audition Form by Monday, August 4, 2025.

Brass
NYU Wind Symphony, Orchestra, Brass Choir, and Contemporary Music Ensemble auditions will take place on Tuesday, September 2nd, 2025 from 1:00-5:00pm in Paulson Center 668. Auditions will be blind.
Performance majors are required to prepare all audition excerpts (below). It is not mandatory to sign up for an audition time. Instead, Christina Charles will confirm your timeslot via email by August 1st.
Non-performance major students interested in auditioning for a large ensemble are required to sign up for an audition time by completing this form and preparing all audition excerpts. Form submissions are due by August 4, 2025.
