Dual-degree students will complete core requirements for both the bachelor's and master's programs, and will save up to 14 credits (one full semester) by having 4 courses either waived or double-counted for both degrees.
The undergraduate-level course APSTA-UE 1085 Basic Statistics I (4 credits) will allow a graduate course to be waived. Students must take this course at NYU within 2 years of beginning their 5th year in the MA program, and receive a grade of B or better in the course.
The following three graduate-level courses (10 credits) will apply to both degrees:
APSTA-GE 2110 Applied Statistics: Using Large Databases in Education (4 credits): APSTA-GE 2110 will fulfill two requirements: 1) the upper-level Social Sciences requirement in the BA in Education Studies program; and 2) a core requirement for the MA in Education and Social Policy program.
PADM-GP 2902 Regression and Intro to Econometrics and CORE-GP 1018 Microeconomics for Public Management Planning and Analysis: PADM-GP 2902 and CORE-GP 1018 are Education and Social Policy MS requirements and will be double-counted toward unrestricted electives for the BA in Education Studies.
