Adolescent Development

Adolescence as a life stage. Physical, intellectual, social, & psycho-sexual development. Attention to youth from diverse racial/ethnic & socio-cultural backgrounds. Applications & implications for schooling & for prevention & intervention programs directed at psycho-social problems in adolescence will be discussed. Particular emphasis will be placed on neighborhoods, schools & families as contexts of, & important influences on development.
