Research description/bio: As a trained educator, Shari-Lee dedicated her earlier years to the classroom and has molded the minds of several youths across the globe. Before pursuing her doctoral study, she worked in Japan with the Okayama, Yamaguchi, and Kurashiki Boards of Education as a Native English Teacher, where she contributed to developing programs that bolstered the comprehension and adaptation of the English language in schools. In addition, Shari-Lee was integral in identifying learning gaps that informed the implementation of training programs for Japanese teachers of English to help optimize the performance of various English departments. She also taught English at two prominent secondary schools in Jamaica.  

Shari-Lee has a Bachelor of Science degree from The University of the West Indies, Mona campus, and holds a Master's degree in International Education from the University of Leicester. As a Jamaican, her research interests focus on the education sector of Jamaica and the English-speaking Caribbean, particularly on educational inequity and inequality through a post-colonial lens.
