Research Description/Bio: Michelle Jeffers is a doctoral student in the Counseling Psychology program under the direction of both Alisha Ali, Ph.D., and Lisa Suzuki, Ph.D. at New York University Steinhardt. Michelle's research and clinical interests surround trauma and its consequences within vulnerable and at-risk populations. Her previous scholarship investigated processes through which individuals differentially react to traumatic stress and anxiety, specifically post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).


Michelle is also a research project manager for the Center for Precision Medicine in PTSD and AUD at New York University School of Medicine, where she coordinates several NIH-funded clinical trials and DoD-funded studies focused on PTSD and alcohol use.


Michelle received her B.A. in Psychology from Cornell University and her M.A. in Psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University.
