Clinical/Counseling Psychology

In our Clinical/Counseling Psychology doctoral program, you'll follow a scientist-practitioner model, gaining expertise in coursework, clinical training (practica, externships, internship), and research (including your dissertation). We also provide strong training in teaching and mentoring to support your path toward an academic career. Throughout the program, you'll integrate practice, theory, and research while developing the skills to engage in empirically informed, socially just clinical practice and clinically informed research. You'll learn to honor individual differences and cultures in your work while critically examining the structural and systemic forces that impact well-being.

Research

From your first semester, you’ll join a faculty research team, dedicating at least 20 hours per week to hands-on research training. You’ll have the flexibility to transition teams or collaborate across labs while building a strong research portfolio through publications, grants, and presentations.

As a part of your training in the Clinical/Counseling Psychology program, you’ll engage with the Center, offering essential services to address the social, emotional, and behavioral health needs of the local community.
