Research Description/Bio: Iris Mann is a doctoral student in Counseling Psychology under the mentorship of Dr. Shabnam Javdani. Iris’s research interests center on the reimagination of trauma-informed care for historically and presently marginalized young people, the role of racialization in clinical decision-making and counseling, and interventions located at the family-community interface. Iris’s previous scholarship includes work on a community-based intervention that aims to improve the mental health of young people impacted by the Juvenile Legal System-Child Welfare continuum through providing support to the daily care staff who work within residential facilities.
