Research Description/Bio: Fanny is a part-time doctoral student in the Sociology of Education program. Having grown up in New York City, she has been interested in exploring the experiences of college students who commute into a large city for their higher education. Specifically, Fanny is eager to learn more about how the intersectionality between race and socio-economic class impact a college student’s success.
Prior to joining the Sociology of Education program, Fanny received her BA in Sociology and her MA in Higher Education and Student Affairs, both from New York University. She currently works full-time at a private college uptown as the Assistant Director of Student Activities and Inclusivity Programming, where she supports students through diversity and inclusion initiatives.
