What You'll Learn

Your undergraduate studies will consist of a range of liberal arts core courses, including introductory study of the humanities, social sciences, science, and quantitative reasoning, as well as a broad foundation of music theory and history, aural comprehension, and keyboard harmony and improvisation.

You can also adapt your degree to fit your goals and talents through electives in music business, music technology, jazz studies, and music education.

Real-World Experience

You'll have myriad opportunities to perform in our chamber groups, including brass quintets, quartets, and trios, and the NYU Brass Choir. The Department of Music and Performing Arts Professions hosts several mixed ensembles, as well as opportunities to perform in fully staged operas, music theatre productions, recording studio dates, and screen scoring projects. You will present recitals in your junior and senior years.
