Examines the potential of various genres of simulation & games (both analog & digital) as learning technologies through readings, discussion, play, design, & research. Literacy, identity, genre, interactivity, play, story, emotions, presence, & information visualization are among the cultural & cognitive concepts covered in this course. Student-selected assignments typically include reflections on game & simulation play, integrating games & simulations in formal learning environments, designing & developing prototypes of educational games & simulations, & conducting short exploratory research.

Revenue generation for the performing arts organization. Examines development and fund-raising in the performing arts organization with a view to students learning strategies and acquiring skills to raise funds from disparate sources. Development is examined in its potential for fulfilling planning objectives, community development, and stability for the performing arts organization.

OT-GE 2900 Developing Assistive Technology 3 Credits
This multi-disciplinary course allows students from a variety of backgrounds to work together to develop examples of assistive technology. Partnering with outside organization students will work in teams to identify a clinical need relevant to a certain clinical site or client population, and learn the process of developing an idea and following that through the development of a prototype product. The major learning activity is the design and fabrication of a device (piece of equipment, software, etc.) that meets a specific need for a specific person with a disability or a clinic that treats clients with disabilities or a category of people with similar needs as a result of their disability.

APSY-UE 1138 Developing Independent Research Projects 2 Credits
Exposes students to approaches to research in diverse settings in the field of Applied Psychology. Students begin developing ideas for independent research. Through scaffolded experiences, lectures, discussions, guest speakers, research lab visits, and readings, students develop and articulate goals for engaging in independent research, identify types of mentorship and ways to integrate their own goals for research with the work of a potential mentor, and begin to formulate ideas for their research proposals.

EDCT-GE 2310 Developing Mobile Apps for Learning 3–4 Credits
Course is designed for researchers and designers interested in learning and design theory. Student will develop mobile apps for prototype learning experiences and be exposed to the fundamentals of JavaScript, AppFramework, Jquery, HTML/CSS,. Course will also focus on JavaScript libraries for mobile app development and other distribution options for app stores (i.e., Cordova). Students should have basic knowledge of HTML/CSS and some experience with JavaScript (i.e., knowing JavaScript is not required) or prior background in programming concepts (e.g., Actionscript).

MPAMT-GE 2945 Developing Presentations and Publications in Music Therapy 3 Credits
This course will help students gain the skills and knowledge required to develop effective professional communications in music therapy. This includes learning how to determine 1) the focus of the information to be shared with colleagues, 2) the form of communication best suited to delivering this information, and 3) the clinical, theoretical, and experiential elements that will best convey the writer's/presenter's message. During the course, students will develop a detailed outline for either a publication or an oral presentation.

The course will culminate in developing new work for a Devised Theatre Showcase.

MPAET-GE 2956 Devising Educational Drama Programs and Curricula 1 Credit
Educational theatre practitioners need not only an understanding of the basic conventions of educational drama but a wider understanding of the climate of education and the arts. Professionals must be able to respond to the changing needs of urban students, the challenges of today's society and the broader national educational goals. The class is designed for students who have basic knowledge of the conventions of educational drama and theatre who wish to transfer their classroom experience of a broader venue. Students will build an understanding of different strategies for structuring drama curriculum building to a larger drama program. Participants will develop curriculum targeted at a particular population that they may encounter working as a professional in the field and explore curriculum development for both short and long term programs including the elements involved in creating and developing new drama programs within already existing arts programs or other related settings. Students explore the variety of issues involved in developing new drama programs including assessing a community's needs, recognizing cultural influences and developing long term goals.

Assessment of the food intake and needs of individuals of diverse ages and backgrounds. Taking into consideration the genetic, cultural, social, and economic factors that affect dietary choices, students will develop dietary plans that meet current recommendations for a variety of health conditions using exchange systems, food composition data, menus, recipes, and product labels.
