INTE-GE 2024 Bridging Divides Through Art: Creative Practice and Cultural Power 3 Credits
Can art bridge divides and build peace? This course examines the
role of the arts in advancing peacebuilding, diplomacy, and cross-cultural
understanding. Blending theory and practice, it explores how the arts have been
mobilized globally as tools of peace, education, and soft power. Through case
studies and hands-on engagement with diverse art forms, students investigate how
creative practice deepens awareness of self, others, and the world’s divides, and
imagine how the arts can open new pathways toward connection and change.
APSY-GE 2611 Brief Psychodynamic Therapy 3 Credits
Based on theories of psychoanalysis, attachment, & interpersonal relations, this course covers the basic principles that guide brief psychodynamic psychotherapy. This course also provides opportunities for students to practice skills of developing an accurate case formulation of the client in order to promote change through specific interventions based on the model of brief dynamic therapy.

EDCT-GE 2260 Building Artificial Intelligence Applications for Learning 3 Credits
This course prepares students to conceptualize, design, and critically evaluate AI-enhanced applications that address real challenges and opportunities in learning contexts. The course centers on understanding learning processes from the perspective of diverse stakeholders and applying a learner-centered, human-AI design process to build supporting solutions. Students investigate how AI—particularly large language models and multimodal systems—can augment teachers, learners, and other educational actors by providing feedback, scaffolding, analytics, or new forms of interaction. Through iterative design, ethical reflection, and evidence-informed evaluation, students create and refine an AI-enhanced prototype that meaningfully supports learning or teaching practices.

This course introduces students to the economics governing the global business of art, including accounting, finance and the visual art market with attention to pricing, selling, reselling art, and business ethics, with an emphasis on what sets arts businesses apart. From case studies students learn basic accounting methods, how to analyze financial statements, and assess business performance and risk. Students create a start-up arts business plan that synthesizes course content.
