How to Apply

The 31-credit MA, World Language Education for College and Adults (Non-Certification) equips you with the linguistic and pedagogical training you need to teach Chinese, French, Italian, Japanese, or Spanish to college-aged and adult learners. You’ll blend classroom training with hands-on practical experience to emerge as a skilled and reflective educator in world languages.

Core Course Sequence

You’ll take foundational classes in teaching world languages, linguistic analysis, and bilingual, multicultural, and intercultural perspectives in education. You’ll also gain classroom and field experience that will enable you to recognize and respond to diverse language needs. The program culminates in a second language acquisition research and capstone project.
