Aayushi Gala (she/her)
An aspiring psychologist, Aayushi Gala is an international student from India pursuing an MA in Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness. She loves to try new things, travel around, and support those in need.
Anita Zhou (she/her)
Anita is a rising junior majoring in Education Studies and minoring in Philosophy. She is an international student from China and has lived there for the previous 18 years. Entering NYU and living in New York City is a fresh experience for her. She loves wandering around the city, exploring special cuisines from all around the world, and watching musicals. The most important thing is, she has a cute hamster!
Iris Zhang (she/her)
Iris Zhang is a sophomore majoring in Media, Culture, and Communication. She was born and grew up in Beijing, China. She loves enjoying delicious food and traveling around the world; she has been to 9 countries all over the world, more than 20 provinces in China, and more than 5 states in the U.S. She is also planning to study abroad. She is passionate about experiencing unique, various cultures in different areas and promoting cultural equity and equality.
Jiayi Xu (she/her)
Jiayi Xu is a fourth-year student at NYU, studying Anthropology and Media, Culture, and Communications. She was born in Suzhou, China, spent her first college at NYU Shanghai, and came to NYC in 2021. Jiayi intends to obtain a J.D. degree in the furture and is the recipient of numerous awards and scholarships. She has been involved with the International Programming and Advocacy Committee (IPAC) for more than a year. Jiayi loves her cat, Dottie!
Oscar Chen (he/him)
Oscar is a second-year graduate student specializing in cello performance at Steinhardt. He currently works as a graduate adjunct instructor in the Music and Performing Arts Professions Department teaching non-major students cello. Born in Macau, China, Oscar finished his undergraduate studies in Beijing before arriving in New York in 2022. Performing and teaching cello is his biggest passion. Besides music, he enjoys meeting and communicating with people from different backgrounds and cultures. He is excited to be part of IPAC and listen to the unique experiences of everyone!
Sally Chen (she/her)
Sally Chen is a junior majoring in Media, Culture, and Communication and pursuing minors in Japanese and Math and Computer Science. She comes from China. Her favorite things to do include drawing, listening to music, and hanging out with her friends. She also works as a Lab Assistant in MCC MediaLab.
Srinitya Duvvuri (she/her)
Srinitya is a first-year graduate student from India studying Sociology of Education. She is passionate about education, social change, and queer culture. She enjoys connecting with people from different cultures and finding interesting things to bond over. She loves poetry, bookstores, visiting museums, taking long walks in parks, and talking about BTS to anyone who will listen. She works part-time as a research assistant in the NYU Literacy, Technology and Culture Lab.
Wania Ahmed (she/her)
Wania Ahmed is currently immersed in her Master's Program in Food Studies, exploring the multifaceted world of culinary arts and the cultural aspects of food. She did her undergraduate degree in gastronomy and hospitality management while living in Istanbul and working as a chef before finally making the exciting move to NYC, where she quickly fell in love with the city's iconic pizza. Wania has a fervor for hosting and organizing events that revolve around community building. She also loves to make jewelry and teach children about the joys of food and the importance of nutrition.
Widodo (he/him)
Widodo is from Jambi, Indonesia and is currently a full-time graduate student majoring in Educational Leadership, Politics and Advocacy. Widodo is passionate about education, social equity, and leadership development. He has six years of experience working with different non-governmental organizations (NGOs) focused on education and training on more than 15 remote islands in Indonesia. Widodo enjoys traveling solo, photography, swimming, and scuba diving. He feels alive when he is surrounded by nature. Furthermore, he is very interested in cross-culture understanding, which makes him excited to be part of IPAC and he is looking forward to working together with other IPAC members.
Xixia Ni (she/her)
Xixia Ni is a fifth year student at NYU in the B. A. Education Studies/M. A. Education and Social Policy dual degree program. She was born in China, and moved to New York for high school when she was fifteen. Xixia has been involved with the Education Studies Student Committee (ESSC) and International Programming and Advocacy Committee (IPAC) while attending NYU, and is the recipient of numerous awards and scholarships. She is passionate about education innovation and equity.
