The NYU Steinhardt Summer Jazz Improvisation and Composers Workshop offers daily cutting-edge masterclasses, ensembles and seminars that provide a wide range of opportunities tailored to the needs of intermediate and advanced students. Students will interact and study with many of the top jazz musicians on the music scene today, and they will also have the opportunity to give public performances at the Provincetown Playhouse in Greenwich Village, the heart of the New York City jazz scene.
The workshops will consist of a daily improvisation class, a daily masterclass with special guest instructors (this will open with group meetings and discussions), daily small ensemble rehearsals with NYU or guest faculty, and a daily jazz composition class.
