Applied Statistics for Social Science Research Alumni in Action

Isaac Maddow-Zimet graduated from the Applied Statistics for Social Science Research program in 2017, and currently works as a Senior Research Associate at the Guttmacher Institute, a not-for-profit research organization whose primary focus is sexual and reproductive health. His main areas of research include unintended pregnancy, adolescent sexual health and behavior, and sex education in the United States, as well as the measurement of abortion in survey research. Isaac has published articles in the Journal of Adolescent Health, BJOG, Journal of Marriage and Family, Maternal and Child Health Journal and Perspectives on Sexual and Reproductive Health, among others, and he is a member of the Population Association of America. A 2023 study that Isaac led with the Guttmacher Institute has recently been covered by the NYTimes and NPR.
