MA/OTD Single-Decision Option

Occupational Therapy

NYU Steinhardt’s Department of Occupational Therapy offers a special admissions option that allows therapists with a bachelor's degree in OT to attain both an MA and Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) without having to apply for admission to each degree separately. After applying to and completing the MA, accepted MA/OTD students can continue uninterrupted onto the OTD.

Benefits of a Combined MA/OTD Application Option

  • After completing the MA degree, you can continue uninterrupted onto the OTD without having to submit another admissions application

  • Full-time students can complete the two degrees in 2 ½ years of study

  • Part-time study is available to accommodate working students 

  • Advance your knowledge and critical thinking via course work that builds a foundation of critical analysis, evidence-based practice, ethics, and theory 

  • Learn how to collaborate with interdisciplinary professionals to provide high-quality care

MA/OTD-Specific Admissions Requirements 

  • GRE 

  • Three letters of recommendation

  • Interviews (as requested by the department)
