In January 2026, the Trauma-Informed Schools Institute (TISI), housed at IHDSC, convened educators for an engaging workshop centered on building more equitable and trauma-informed school communities. Educators from a wide-range of school settings engaged in relationship-building with one another, explored restorative routines and co-regulation strategies, and used an equity-centered lens to explore and understand student behavior.

Participants engaged with a panel discussion and interactive activities to bridge communication and practice, and left with concrete examples, strategies, and approaches to implementing classroom systems that foster belonging for all students.
