Nisha Sajnani led the first national training in arts and health in collaboration with the EU Commission and World Health Organization in Armenia and Georgia and with Art Jameel in Saudi Arabia. She also gave the keynote address at Healing Arts Singapore (HASG), the first national arts and health festival in Asia. HASG was co-led by the National University of Singapore’s (NUS) Centre for Music and Health at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA), University of the Arts Singapore (UAS), and the Jameel Arts & Health Lab.

It was attended by artists, creative arts therapists, researchers, health leaders, and policy leads from Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia, and Brunei. This multi-year initiative is part of the Jameel Arts & Health Lab’s global Healing Arts campaign produced in collaboration with the WHO. HASG involved a one-week program featuring academic symposia, policy meetings, capacity-building workshops, artist commissions, and the appointment of the National Gallery of Singapore as Asia’s first Healing Arts Centre of Excellence. This designation was reported by Central News Asia where Dr. Sajnani gave a feature interview.
