Mara Mills, Associate Professor of Media, Culture, and Communication has received NYU's 2022 Distinguished Teaching Award — this year given to only six faculty from across the University. The award recognizes the honorees' "extraordinary commitment to, and innovation and effectiveness in, teaching and learning at the University."

Mills is the co-founder and co-director, along with Professor Faye Ginsburg, of the NYU Center for Disability Studies, and is a founding member of the steering committees for two NYU cross-school undergraduate minors: Science and Society and Disability Studies. See Mills' website for details about her grant-funded scholarship.
