At the NYU Steinhardt Screen Scoring program, we are dedicated to creating a generation of composers that thrive in all aspects of the modern media scoring industry. We offer four exciting back-to-back summer workshops in film, television, videogame, and advertising, all in the epicenter of the global music and film industries, New York City.

Our workshops are taught by top professionals in field such as Mark Snow (The X-Files, Blue Bloods), Michael Levine (Siren, Star Wars: Detours) Mac Quayle (Mr. Robot, Feud), Nate Barr (The Americans, True Blood), Blake Neely (Arrow, Riverdale), Pete Nashel (Marco Polo, Incorporated), Tom Salta (Halo, Warface), Jason Kanter Eric Hachikian (Marco Polo, When We First Met), Jay Wadley (The OA, Indignation), and more.

As a participant in these workshops, you will be mentored and critiqued by industry professionals in every step of the way. Depending on your interests and focus, you can choose to apply to any combination of our workshops. You can even attend all four, and spend an exciting month in NYC immersed in screen scoring.

There is one general application for our Screen Scoring Workshops. Applicants will be able to indicate for which workshops they would like to be considered, and submit the respective audition requirements. After reviewing your materials, we may recommend alternate or additional workshops we believe would benefit you as a composer.

Applicants can participate in multiple workshops and receive the following discounts:

Attend Two Workshops: 5% discount
Attend Three or Four Workshops: 10% discount

Application Deadline (all workshops):
March 20, 2018
