NYU Steinhardt has certain school-wide requirements for all courses. When developing a new a course, faculty must include: Syllabus, Course Title and Description, Student Learning Outcomes, Required/Recommended Reading and Assignments, Grading, Units
New faculty courses are approved by the Committee on Courses and Programs (CCP), which consists of representatives from each department at Steinhardt. A new course may be proposed by any full-time tenured, tenure-track, or clinical faculty member.
The Office of Accreditation and Assessment oversees the submission of all new undergraduate and graduate program proposals, as well as any program revisions.
