The Women’s Choir, directed by Chantel Wright, is an ensemble of 60 voices devoted to the highest quality literature in a wide variety of musical styles.

Who Can Join

All choruses are open to the NYU community (students, faculty, and staff) and community at large, by audition.

Audition Information

Auditions will take place on Saturday, August 31 and Sunday, September 1, 2019 from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm.

SCHEDULE YOUR AUDITION

The audition will consist of 

  • A vocal solo, chosen by the singer. Please limit it to no more than 2 minutes in length. The song can be in any style and sung in any language. The song is expected to be sung with piano accompaniment; an accompanist will be provided. Please bring a score for the pianist (a photocopy is fine).
  • Sight singing.
  • Pitch matching and vocal range exercises.

The only thing you need to bring to your audition is a score for the pianist.

Rehearsal Information

The Women’s Choir meets Tuesdays from 7 - 8:30pm.

Performances and Concerts

The Women’s Choir presents one or two concerts each semester.

Multimedia

Concerts are streamed live and recorded for archival purposes.
