Heather Hardy (she/her) develops and oversees academic advising for all graduate and undergraduate programs in the Department of Music and Performing Arts Professions in her role as Assistant Director of Academic Advisement. Prior to this leadership role, Heather served as the Academic Advisor for undergraduate Music Technology students at NYU, and previously as the Graduate Program & Communications Coordinator for the English Department at Northeastern University. A devoted student advocate, Heather leverages her power as an institutional “insider” and faculty partner to dismantle barriers to student success. Heather is a proud first-generation, low-income college student who earned her BM in Music Education from New York University and her MEd in HIgher Education Administration from Northeastern University.

Jake Alexander (him/him) is a CT-native who has lived in NYC for almost ten years. He is a theatre artist and playwright whose work has been produced across the city. He has worked for NYU for the last three years, previously with the Journalism Department as the Graduate Administrative Aide. When he is not writing or in his office, he is exploring every restaurant that makes a great quesadilla, and training his cat to speak (unsuccessful at this point).

As an advisor, Allison is committed to fostering a supportive, accessible environment for students, and works closely with students to help them navigate their academic paths and reach their full potential. Allison has a personal and professional connection to MPAP, having graduated with her Master's in Educational Theatre from NYU in 2021, and currently pursuing her doctorate in Educational Theatre. Allison has cultivated a deep knowledge of the student experience at NYU, and utilizes this experience in her advising approach. Drawing from her own path, Allison champions student advocacy, prioritizing mental health and community building within the department. Her unique perspective as a current student and advisor allows her to bridge gaps and advocate for policies that benefit students both academically and holistically. When not at work or in class herself, Allison enjoys watching every season of Great British Bake Off at least twice, and baking treats to enjoy during her watchalongs. She is always looking for music recommendations, so please share what you’re listening to right now!

A dedicated higher education professional and playwright, Maddie is committed to supporting students in the arts. Before joining the MPAP advising team, she was a career coach at NYU Wasserman’s Center and had experience in admissions – and in her time at NYU, she’s also enjoyed acting as a mentor for NYU Fulbright arts applicants, serving on OGA interview prep panels, and coaching cohorts of students interested in entertainment through a Creative Careers Hub initiative. She’s currently pursuing her Playwriting MFA at Hunter College, and she has an Art History BA from George Washington University. Please tell her all movies/plays/TV shows/books/music/culture in general you’re loving lately.

Hana Goldstein (she/her), originally from Long Island, is a dedicated student support advocate and is passionate about student mental health initiatives. Prior to joining the MPAP Advising Team, she was an Academic Advisor for computer science and engineering students at the University of Rochester where she had the pleasure of serving on a non-clinical case management team, connecting students to appropriate campus resources and coordinating pathways of support. She also has experience teaching and tutoring middle and high school students, and received her MS in Science Education from the Warner School of Education at the University of Rochester and her BA in Geography from SUNY New Paltz. Outside of the office, you can find her frolicking around an art museum, exploring an arts and crafts fair, or enjoying a new coffee shop.

Ashlyn O’Boyle (she/her) is originally from CT but has lived in NYC for three years. She completed her BA in English at the University of Connecticut (UCONN) and graduated from NYU with her MA in Irish and Irish-American studies in May 2024. Before joining the MPAP Advising Team as an Academic Advisor, she previously worked as a fifth-grade English teacher and had the opportunity to work as a part-time advisor at CAS. When she is not in the office, Ashlyn is continuing to write her own novel, spending time with her cat, Clover, and is involved in various acting opportunities.

Bio: Brennan Stack (she/they), originally from Oklahoma City, advises the Undergraduate Music Business program. As an alum of the program, Brennan brings a deep understanding of the curriculum and mission of the Music Business program, guiding students in navigating their unique academic and professional journeys. Currently, Brennan is pursuing a master’s degree in Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness at NYU, where they are expanding their expertise in supporting students' holistic well-being, both academically and personally. With a passion for both the music industry and mental health, Brennan is dedicated to fostering student success through personalized advising and compassionate support.
