MA, Bilingual Education for Teachers

The 34-credit MA in Bilingual Education for Teachers equips educators with advanced tools for effective, culturally responsive bilingual and multicultural instruction in a range of contexts. Blending comprehensive coursework with hands-on experiential learning, this degree prepares you for a career in domestic and international education, research, curriculum design, and other bilingual and bicultural settings. 

Core Course Sequence & Electives 

The MA coursework blends foundational instruction in the theory and practice of multilingual education with advanced analysis of the impacts of globalization, intercultural perspectives on language learning, and hands-on classroom practice and student teaching. The program culminates in a capstone project that represents a new contribution to the field of second language acquisition. You’ll also have the opportunity to take elective classes in areas like international bilingual education, linguistics, and language evaluation and assessment.
