This minor in Data and Education will introduce you to how data-driven solutions and applications can improve and inform education practices, policy making, and implementation; and how education, as a tool, can impact many aspects of society beyond school boundaries. Using a critical lens, you'll examine important issues in the use of data to address education issues, such as access and equity, ethics and values, both in the US and globally. You'll learn how to understand and manage education data, how to think about and examine the complexities of education data, how and why education data are collected, and what kinds of critical education issues can be explored and solved through data. This minor is open to all NYU undergraduates.
