The 128-credit BS in Music Business combines cross-disciplinary coursework in Music Technology courses focused on music production and recording, business, and the arts while providing hands-on experience working in the industry. You will graduate prepared to launch your career in recorded music, music publishing, live music, artist management, and more. You will be ready to enter a fast-paced, exciting and demanding industry that is exciting and constantly changing.

College Core Curriculum (CORE)

NYU’s College Core Curriculum provides you with an essential academic experience  in the liberal arts, including courses in expository writing, foreign language, and foundations of contemporary culture and scientific inquiry. In addition to these subject areas, you’ll have the opportunity to explore liberal arts electives, gaining the skills and breadth of intellectual knowledge to thrive in the Music Business field upon graduation. 

Major Requirements

While studying for your BS in Music Business, you will attain an in-depth understanding of Music Technology, Analog Recording Technology, Digital Recording Technology, and more. You will complete your core business studies including Financial Accounting, Management and Organizations and Marketing at the Stern School of Business and study subjects such as Concert Management, Music Publishing, Data Analysis and International Music Business along with many electives, preparing yourself to become a significant contributor in the music industry.

Culminating Experience

As a Music Business undergraduate, you’ll complete 2 or more internship opportunities in music business, combining hands-on learning with industry leaders. You’ll network with an active alumni and gain professional contacts working in recorded music, music publishing, live music and touring, artist management, digital music services and more.,
