Not necessarily. Once you are accepted, your undergraduate college transcript(s) will be evaluated. Only courses with a grade of C or better will be considered. External Transfers will receive a statement of transfer credit with your admissions packet, which will specify the courses being accepted for transfer credit. Specific questions should be discussed with your academic adviser.

Transfer applicants must audition via video and submit their video auditions on GetAcceptd following this protocol. Applicants must present four works, selected from five possible eras: Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Modern, and Post-1945. The following, sometimes overlapping time spans should be used as a reference. No two pieces chosen should be from the same time period or overlapping years.
- Baroque (to ca. 1750)
- Classical (ca. 1750–ca. 1830)
- Romantic (ca. 1830–1899)
- Modern (1900–1945)
- Post-1945 (1945–2026); original compositions may also be offered as a supplement, but not instead of this requirement.
Video auditions must contain the complete audition repertoire, played in its entirety. Individual works may not be edited. It is preferred that all repertoire be recorded in a single take, with the performer announcing their full name and the date of the recording at the beginning.
Audition repertoire must be memorized and works prepared in their entirety. Exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis; applicants with questions should contact Dr. Marilyn Nonken.
