Annika Boras

Annika Boras is an actress, writer, director, and teacher. She is a graduate of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, London.

In theatre, she has worked with (among others): William Gaskill at the Arcola theatre, Gadi Roll at RADA and ART, Robert Woodruff and Arin Arbus at TFANA, Brian Kulick and Rebecca Taichman at CSC, John Patrick Shanley at NYSAF, and Manhattan Theater Club, and David Cromer and Tracy Letts at Second Stage. She's been nominated for the Lucille Lortel and Drama League Awards.

In film, Annika has appeared in (among others) Spielberg’s The Post and Silas Howard’s A Kid Like Jake. Annika is currently in the HBO television series Succession, produced by Frank Rich and HBO’s Random Acts of Flyness by Terence Nance. Select TV: Warren Leight’s Shelter, SONY pilot directed by Charles McDougall, Baz Luhrmann’s The Get Down, The Blacklist, The Good Wife, and Homeland. She held recurring roles on The Following (Kevin Bacon), Chicago Fire, Time After Time, Unforgettable, Royal Pains, and Light’s Out.

As writer and director, Annika co-created and directed the solo show Queens Girl (Stonewall Inn, NYC; Stockholm, Sweden; New Orleans, San Francisco, and Portland, Oregon.) She assisted director Matthew Decker on the world premiere of The Jungle Book at the Arden Theatre in Philadelphia. Annika’s writing has been developed by Crossroads Theater Company, NJ, and ESPA. She’s an alum of the Vermont Studio Center's writing residency.

Annika has coached actors privately in London, New York, and California, and taught "Acting for Television" at Rutgers University. In 2017, Annika and director Ed Sylvanus Iskandar co-created a free training program for a company of professional actors to develop skills exploring the physical work of Grotowski, among others.

Annika joined the adjunct faculty at NYU’s Steinhardt program in Vocal Performance in 2018, teaching acting through song.
