Pianist and music therapist, Renate 艶子 Rohlfing M.M., M.A., MT-BC is a certified Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapist and works as a clinical staff member at the Nordoff-Robbins Center for Music Therapy at NYU Steinhardt.
She is a co-founder of Sounds That Carry, where she works with nonprofits and arts organizations to develop culturally relevant programs that strengthen communities and augment the impact of the arts. Ms. Rohlfing is an associate professor at Berklee College of Music, where she teaches classes at the intersection of music, psychology, and health and is the recipient of the Dean's Award for Global Presence and Engagement. She has been invited to lead discussions and workshops across the globe, most recently at Berklee Abu Dhabi, the Juilliard School Entrepreneurship Symposium, Chamber Music America, Harvard Graduate School of Education, and the Institute for Technology and Aging at McLean Hospital in Boston. Her work has been supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, NYC Department of Cultural Affairs, the Wallace Foundation, Berklee Faculty Grants, the Avenir Foundation, and others. She is a proud native of Hawaii and a graduate of the Juilliard School and New York University.
