Leigh S. McCallen is the Deputy Executive Director of Research and Evaluation at the NYU Metropolitan Center for Research on Equity and the Transformation of Schools. Leigh is an applied researcher with expertise leading projects designed to inform programs and policies that contribute to equitable postsecondary access and success among young people in New York City. Prior to joining Metro Center, Leigh was the founding director of research and evaluation at College Access: Research and Action (CARA), where she developed quantitative, qualitative, and participatory approaches to studying peer-to-peer and whole-school postsecondary advising interventions at NYC public high schools and City University of New York (CUNY) colleges. She has also worked in various roles across the CUNY system, including as an instructor with the Youth Studies program at Brooklyn College and as a research associate with the Center for Teaching and Learning at Queens College. Leigh holds a B.A. in Psychology from Vassar College and a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from the CUNY Graduate Center.
