Evan Rees is a music director, voice teacher, and pianist based in New York City. In addition to maintaining his private voice studio, Evan currently serves on the adjunct musical theater faculty at NYU Steinhardt. He has also served on faculty at Manhattan School of Music and Rider University, and taught at Columbia University.

As a music director, Evan led the U.S. national tour of Fiasco Theater’s acclaimed revival of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s Into the Woods. He also music directed that production at the Menier Chocolate Factory in London, U.K. Other selected music director/conductor credits include: Off-Broadway: The Boys from Syracuse; U.S.National Tour: Chicago, A Christmas Story; Regional: Grand Hotel (Signature Theatre VA), Fun Home (Baltimore Center Stage), A Little Night Music (The Princeton Festival). As a coach and rehearsal pianist, Evan worked on the original Broadway production of Kander & Ebb’s The Visit starring Chita Rivera and Roger Rees. Other selected pianist credits include: Broadway: Into the Woods (2022); Off-Broadway: Love Life (City Center Encores!), A Bed and a Chair (City Center Encores!); U.S. National Tour: My Fair Lady (Lincoln Center).
