Christina is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Teaching and Learning with a concentration in English Education. She was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, and holds a BA and MA in English Literature from Boston College, an MA in Teaching English, grades 7-12, from Brooklyn College, and an MS in Educational Leadership from Hunter College. She taught English at a Title I high school in New York City for nearly 7 years.
Christina's primary focus in her research is understanding and leveraging the space of the secondary English classroom. Her interests include culturally responsive pedagogies that encompass both literary and instructional choices as well as ways we define and embed joy in secondary English classrooms.
Outside of her academic interests, Christina believes in eating frosting and attempting DIY projects.
