Stephanie Dorais, PhD, LPC, NCC is a licensed professional counselor and also serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor in Counselor Education at William & Mary. She began her career in the field of data analytics with an undergraduate degree in Statistics from NYU Stern but later found an additional passion in counseling. She completed her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Regent University and her PhD in Counselor Education at William & Mary. She has worked as a counselor for the past eight years in private practice and college counseling. As a professor, she teaches statistics, research, and spiritual integration in counseling. Her research lies in the nexus of positive psychology and behavioral economics, applying intensive longitudinal methodology to factors related to transcendence, decision-making, and thriving. Her work focuses on how contemplative practices influence people's decision making, leading them to experience hope, compassion, transcendence, and other areas related to human thriving.
