NYU Professor and Students Help Create New Grammy Award

The Recording Academy announced the creation of a special merit award for Best Song for Social Change. The award was proposed by Music Business Professor Carlos Chirinos. Students cataloged 400 songs dealing with social change.

Guidelines for Creating a New Course

NYU Steinhardt has school-wide requirements for all courses. When developing a new course syllabus, faculty must include: Course Name and Description, Units/Credits and Hours, Student Learning Outcomes, Required/Recommended Reading and Assignments, Grading Scale and Evaluation Rubric(s), Weekly Schedule (with assignment due dates), and Mental Health, Disability and Academic Integrity Statements.

MFA Seminar

This elective course assists MFA candidates in the development of a substantial body of work in preparation for exhibitions. Issues addressed include the production, installation and display of work, artist statements, catalog essays, and other materials that might accompany an exhibition.
