Research Description/Bio: Bridget Horta (she/her) is a doctoral student in the Psychology and Social Intervention (PSI) program. She is interested in understanding the works of structural racism, sexism, dog whistle politics, systems of oppression, and the capitalist agenda that keeps elites in power. She aspires to continue developing a better understanding of how these social contexts frame policies so that she can work toward making them culturally responsive and equitable for marginalized communities, particularly within the field of education. Before joining the program, Bridget earned her BA in Psychology, as well as certificates in Community-Based Assessment and Evaluation (CBAE) and Public Health, from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas.
