The Department of Occupational Therapy at NYU Steinhardt is proud to announce a competitive scholarship for new Post-Professional MA and Entry-Level OTD students. 

This award honors Dr. Jim Hinojosa’s legacy as a mentor, leader, and passionate advocate, both for the field of occupational therapy and the NYU Steinhardt Department of Occupational Therapy. In keeping with Dr. Hinojosa’s desire to help students complete their studies, this award supports new Post-Professional MA & Entry-Level OTD students currently applying or accepted to NYU’s Occupational Therapy program.

Application requirements for both MA and EL-OTD Students:

  • Scholarship Application
  • Undergraduate GPA must be 3.3 or greater (GPA will be taken from transcript submitted with your application)
  • Resume highlighting service or leadership experiences other than OT observation hours
  • Reflecting Dr. Hinojosa's legacy, the Supplemental Essay should focus on your commitment to at least one of the following three areas: becoming a lifelong learner,  the value of service, or demonstrating leadership.
    • Essays should be up to 3 pages, double spaced, Times New Roman, 12 font

Additional scholarship information:

  • Application deadline- February 15th
  • Scholarship amount: 
    • Up to $15,000 disbursed over three years for EL-OTD students 
    • Up to $5,000 for PP-MA OT students
  • Scholarship recipients must maintain good academic standing throughout the program.
