Internship Course Eligibility

Music Business

Undergraduate Internships (MPAMB-UE 1320)

To be eligible for the Music Business Internship course (MPAMB-UE 1320) you must:

  1. Be an undergraduate with a declared major in Music Business
  2. Be in good academic standing with the department and university (no academic or disciplinary action on record)
  3. Have completed 2 semesters in the program and 2 Music Business Specialization Courses (MPAMB-UE)
  4. Be of sophomore, junior, or senior standing
  5. Not have completed all 8 of the allowed Music Business internship credits
  6. If you are interning for credit for the first time, you must be approved to intern by the Music Business Internship Coordinator, Madeline Hutchinson.

For undergraduate non-majors, MPAMB-UE 100 Business Structure of the Music Industry must have been completed  prior to registering for the internship course.

Credit Allocation

Undergraduate students may earn a maximum of 8 academic credits through MPAMB-UE 1320 (with a maximum of 3 credits per semester). Internships are offered for 1-3 credits per terms and graded on 4-point scale (A, B+, C-, etc.).

Graduate Internships (MPAMB-GE 2301)

To be eligible for the Music Business Internship you must:

  1. Be a second-semester or later graduate student in Music Business.
  2. Be in good academic standing with the university (no academic or disciplinary action on record).
  3. If you are interning for credit for the first time, you must be approved to intern by the Music Business Internship Coordinator, Madeline Hutchinson.

For graduate non-majors, we recommend that you have taken at least one course in the MA program.

Credit Allocation

Graduate students may earn a maximum of 3 internship credits towards their degree.
