Tania Chowdhury, Ph.D. is an early-career, licensed clinical psychologist, practicing as a pediatric psychologist at an academic medical center in NY. As an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Applied Psychology, she taught the following courses: Individual Counseling Practice I, Individual Counseling Theory and Process, and Cross-Cultural Counseling. She currently serves as an executive committee member of the Asian American Psychological Association.
Dr. Chowdhury's research interests focus on investigating mental health challenges at the intersections of minoritized identities and oppressive systems, specifically in immigrant populations, with the broader goal of translating research into practice, advocacy, and policy. Dr. Chowdhuryâs clinical training demonstrates her commitment to working with the historically underserved. She is a former fellow of the American Psychological Association Minority Fellowship Program, selected to promote culturally competent behavioral health services and policy for ethnic minority populations. She has experience providing comprehensive psychological services to children, parents, adults, and groups with varied psychiatric presentations, including severe and persistent mental illness, across university, outpatient hospital, inpatient hospital, and community mental health settings.
