Shonelle George is an adjunct lecturer at New York University Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development. Her clinical work focuses on helping individuals delve beneath the surface of their problems, to uncover conflicts that prevent them from living their best lives. She believes in a holistic and strength-based approach to wellness. She is particularly passionate about advocating for women and girls and has conducted several empowerment workshops and seminars for women and girls in Latin America, South America, the Caribbean, the United States, and Canada.
Shonelle has worked in several settings, including higher education, servicing first-generation college students from financially disadvantaged backgrounds and in community based organizations advocating for alternatives to incarceration for juvenile offenders.
She is a final year clinical psychology doctoral student with a background in mental health counseling and education. Her research interests include intergenerational trauma, rejection sensitivity, attachment styles, relational trauma, and human growth and development.
