Shannon McGinn is a Board-Certified Art Therapist with an MA in art therapy and an EdS in Marriage and Family Therapy. She also holds a JD where she focused on public interest law and Therapeutic Jurisprudence.

She earned a law license in two states and a certificate in Divorce Mediation. She has practiced disability law and prisoner-reentry law in New Jersey.

Shannon has experience working as an art therapist with incarcerated adult males on acute psychiatric treatment units in maximum-security prisons and with veterans on acute inpatient short-stay, long-term, Geri-psych, PTSD, women's trauma, and substance abuse units.

Shannon has provided art therapy for couples, families, and children. Shannon currently provides art therapy on an adult short-stay acute psychiatric treatment unit in New Jersey and is an adjunct instructor at NYU teaching Forensic Art Therapy. Shannon has also earned an MS in kinesiology with concentrations in sports performance and sports psychology focusing on the overlap of mental health and exercise.

In addition to her work as an art therapist, Shannon also owns and operates a professional coaching practice that provides whole person-focused coaching for athletes seeking to achieve performance goals while aiming to improve their overall health and wellness.
