Applied Psychology

Dr. Ashley Turbeville is a graduate of the NYU Counseling Psychology Ph.D. program and is a licensed psychologist in private practice. Dr. Turbeville specializes in treating anxiety and OCD in children, teens, and pregnant and postpartum moms using evidenced based treatments such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE). Dr. Ashley also specializes in providing attachment-focused parent coaching (Parent-Child Interaction Therapy; PCIT) and consultation to parents of young children with difficult behaviors. 

Dr. Turbeville teaches in NYU’s School Counseling and Mental Health and Wellness Master’s programs, with courses focusing on cognitive and behavioral therapy, program development and evaluation, and building a student’s individual counseling skills.
